Speaking Engagements

One of the things I least expected when I set up this website was fame. However, I gradually  became an internationally recognized authority on religious bullying. Spiritual leaders from other religions have consulted with me, the website has been the subject of newspaper and magazine articles, and I have contributed to scientific and psychological studies on the phenomenon. In addition, I have been approached by people from around the world to speak about Pagan Bullying, and have done so several times.

I am happy to participate at your events, whether by making a speech, doing a presentation, workshop, or taking part in a panel discussion. Some conditions do apply:

 

	I charge a nominal fee of $100.00 for speaking, but this can be waived under some circumstances.
	My travel expenses must be paid, and I do not own a car. I therefore will have to travel by plane, train or bus (this last only if it is six hours or less from where I live). I am also willing to travel by car with another attendee*, provided there is enough room for me and my luggage, and the trip is eight hours or less.
	I will need a ride from the airport, train or bus station to wherever I am staying, to where I am speaking, and back to the airport, train or bus station. This can be by taxi if necessary, but I must be reimbursed for the cost incurred.
	My lodgings must be paid for, and I do NOT camp. I am quite willing to stay with local Pagans, but they must be non-smokers and I insist on an actual bed, rather than someone's sofa.
	I expect to have two meals provided to me per 24 hour period, and I do have some dietary restrictions.

Of course the subject of bullying in Paganism is a huge one, and I could talk for hours on the subject. Please think about what aspect of bullying you would like me to concentrate on, and how long you'll need me for, so that I can tailor any presentation I prepare to your specific needs.

P.S. I don't just give presentations on bullying - I have also done workshops on Lunar Magic and Astrology, Tarot, the Sacred Dates of Paganism (not just the eight Sabbats!) and Spirit Animals.

* While I am perfectly willing to carpool, the truth is that I am not personally very popular in my local Pagan community. One of the hazards of being a whistle-blower is that you get marginalized, maligned, or treated like a kook in your own neighbourhood. Because most people do not notice bullying unless it affects them directly, it is very easy to deny the existence of it. I got branded a trouble-maker in some quarters because I am willing to speak out.

Being something of a pariah here where I live, it may be rather difficult to find someone willing to give me ride anywhere, let alone to an event where I would speak about bullying. Of course not everyone here is like this, and some people probably would be willing to give me a ride in their car - but I thought it best to be honest about the prospects of easily finding someone who is willing to carpool with me.
